Gwil is coming back from Nashville for a short visit, and we are fortunate to have him and Warren at Sessions On Mary!
Gwil’s songs have been covered by Irma Thomas, Little Feat, and Jack Ingram, among others. The song "Deuce and a Quarter" (co-written with Kevin Gordon) was recorded by Keith Richards and Levon Helm for the album All The Kings Men. He was an Academy Award nominee in 1999 for the song "A Soft Place to Fall" (co-written with Allison Moorer) featured in Robert Redford's movie The Horse Whisperer.
But in Austin we know Gwil as the master behind many of Toni Price's most requested songs such as "Nothing But Heartache," "Hey," "Tumbleweed," and 32 more of your favorites.
Warren Hood grew up watching his Dad and many other great musicians, including Gwil, at the Hippy Happy Hour. He has certainly played many of Gwil's songs many more times than Gwil has. Warren's touch adds spectacular depth that will be enriching, fulfilling, and magical only at Sessions On Mary.
