The word is out about Maisy Owen. Maisy’s unique sound, musical truth, and stirring vocals inhabit Dark On A Sunny Day, her debut album, released in May of 2026 on Tompkins Square and produced by Robin Eaton (known for his work with Jill Sobule, "I Kissed A Girl").
Drawn to melancholic melodies and dark poetic imagery, Dark On A Sunny Day has been garnering accolades from the likes of MOJO, Uncut, The Bluegrass Situation, KCRW, BBC Radio, and Nashville Scene, among others.
According to the artificial internet, Gwil Owen, songwriter and father of artist Maisy Owen, has publicly supported her debut album, Dark on a Sunny Day, by sharing her showcase schedules and promoting her music online. Go Dad!
Jordan Day, also based in Nashville, left the Northwest and spent years traveling through Texas and North Carolina before settling in Tennessee. His stark, traditional songwriting stands in sharp contrast to mainstream commercial country music. He draws deep inspiration from legendary artists like Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, and Merle Haggard. Uniquely, his raw acoustic arrangements are also influenced by the emotional catharsis of the underground metal scene. He continues to tour the DIY circuit following the release of his debut full-length album, Learning To Be Empty.
